Crowds, loud noises, new smells, strange people, and tight quarters can cause stress for anyone. For cats, that overstimulation affects their ability to be properly diagnosed, which is why earlier this fall, the Comer Veterinary Hospital team decided to offer cat-only appointments.

“Our technician and assistants are a vital part of our team. Not only do they provide the business with the ability to be efficient and sustainable, but they are a critical part of our culture of customer service and patient care,” says Dr. Tyson Strickland, veterinarian and owner of Comer Veterinary Hospital.

Comer Vet has offered ProHeart 12, a yearly injection that prevents against heartworm disease, since 2023. Bravecto Quantum, an annual shot that prevents fleas and ticks, released in July and has been available at Comer Vet since late August.

Comer Vet’s Dr. Amy Goggans is a “see it to believe it” kind of person. She had her doubts about laser therapy at first, but that was before she saw how quickly it aided improvement in one of her canine patients.
