Comer Vet Around Town

Dr. Strickland spent time in January representing Comer Vet and our sister clinic, Custom Livestock Solutions, up in Chicago for the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Veterinary Leadership Conference!
This event focused on topics including clinic culture, fostering staff personal + professional development, incorporating mentorship, supporting client relationships, embracing workplace diversity, improving communication skills, and more.
The Comer Vet crew teamed up with our sister clinic, Custom Livestock Solutions LLC, for the annual Christmas in Comer parade on Dec. 6! We had such a fun time seeing everyone on the route. The cold couldn’t keep our Christmas spirits down!

A very special thanks to Dr. Strickland for driving the CLS vet truck; vet assistant Lexi for loaning us our trailer; and extended Comer Vet family members who joined us — Blake, Emily, Natalie, James, Chase, baby James, and Mary Beth.

Comer Vet was well-represented at the 2025 Madison County Harvest Festival! In addition to having merchandise available and folks on-hand to answer questions about what we do here at our clinic, we had a dairy calf from Big Sandy Creek Dairy and a goat for kids to meet and take photos with!

In early October, Dr. Chamlee and Dr. Russell represented Comer Vet at two area career days! Dr. Chamlee brought her dog, Dutch, to Ila Elementary to demonstrate canine wellness exams for first- through fifth-graders. Dr. Russell's Frenchie, Molly, made her career day debut at Comer Elementary for K through 5! Everyone was so excited to pet her and ask Dr. Russell questions about his experience as a small animal and exotics vet.
