Comer Vet Around Town

Thanks to an incredible showing by our pet parents and community members, Comer Vet was again able to donate to Madison County 4-H through this fundraising event.
We would like to shout-out the staff members who made this possible: Dr. Quinn, Dr. Russell, practice manager + vet tech Jessica, receptionist Erica, and vet assistants Kelsi, Hollie, Kaydence, Carson, and Brittany. With their help, several dozen MadiCo pets received their annual booster shots to protect against diseases like rabies! A special thanks to Extension Agent Michaela Brown and her students who took time out of their weekend to volunteer.

Pucks & Paws 2026 was a great success at Akins Ford Arena! Dr. Russell, Dr. Adams, vet assistant Hollie, vet tech + practice manager Jessica, and marketing director Dallas (not pictured) came to cheer on the Rock Lobsters this year. We gave away 300 exclusive Pucks & Paws commemorative doggie bag dispensers and treats!

Dr. Chamlee attended the Madison County 5th Grade Ag Day on behalf of Comer Vet and our sister clinic, Custom Livestock Solutions. Several hundred students from every elementary school in the area stopped by to hear about her job as a veterinarian, and see a mock wellness exam from our trusty assistant, Dutch.
Our final sponsored game during the 2025 to 2026 Rock Lobsters hockey season was Rodeo Night! We joined forces with our sister large animal clinic, Custom Livestock Solutions, to give away custom-designed Cowboy Clawdius Western bandanas representing both of our practices. Thanks to vet assistant Cheyenne, marketing director Dallas, vet assistant Hollie, and vet tech + practice manager Jessica for tabling!

Madison County High School student C.A. participated in the spring job shadow day at Comer Vet! Here, he helps vet assistant Lexi administer vaccines to a feline patient.
Clawdius, mascot for the Athens Rock Lobsters hockey team, got his annual wellness exam during Education Day at the rink! Dr. Chamlee was on hand to make sure he was ready for the game and in tip-top health. Comer Vet was a proud sponsor of this game!
Dr. Strickland spent time in January representing Comer Vet and our sister clinic, Custom Livestock Solutions, up in Chicago for the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Veterinary Leadership Conference!

The Comer Vet crew teamed up with our sister clinic, Custom Livestock Solutions LLC, for the annual Christmas in Comer parade on Dec. 6! We had such a fun time seeing everyone on the route. The cold couldn’t keep our Christmas spirits down!
A very special thanks to Dr. Strickland for driving the CLS vet truck; vet assistant Lexi for loaning us our trailer; and extended Comer Vet family members who joined us — Blake, Emily, Natalie, James, Chase, baby James, and Mary Beth.
"Ride along" with us by watching this Reel on the Comer Vet Instagram!
Each Halloween, the Comer Vet staff picks a group costume theme to dress up as. This year was Mario!

Comer Vet was well-represented at the 2025 Madison County Harvest Festival! In addition to having merchandise available and folks on-hand to answer questions about what we do here at our clinic, we had a dairy calf from Big Sandy Creek Dairy and a goat for kids to meet and take photos with!

In early October, Dr. Chamlee and Dr. Russell represented Comer Vet at two area career days! Dr. Chamlee brought her dog, Dutch, to Ila Elementary to demonstrate canine wellness exams for first- through fifth-graders. Dr. Russell's Frenchie, Molly, made her career day debut at Comer Elementary for K through 5! Everyone was so excited to pet her and ask Dr. Russell questions about his experience as a small animal and exotics vet.

Dr. Russell's idea for the Headless Horse Vet was the talk of the town during the 2025 Scarecrows in the Cities contest!

Four Madison County High School students shadowed at Comer Vet during the fall job shadow experience hosted by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce!

Dallas, our marketing director, and Jess, vet tech and practice manager, represented Comer Vet at the 2025 Bark and Wine gala for Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter.

Dallas, our marketing director, Dr. Quinn, practice manager Jessica, and vet assistant Lexi attended the May Young Professionals social hosted by the Madison County Chamber.
We're proud sponsors and supporters of ...
the Madison County Red Raiders, Hart County FFA, Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter, Madison County 4-H, and the Athens Rock Lobsters! The clinic is a member of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce and a Partner in Education with Comer Elementary. For an opportunity to save on your services at Comer Vet, grab a Shop Local card!
